Setting Up - Firefox!

Because speed is such a major factor in restocking, it is best to ensure your window is loading as fast as possible when you are restocking. First, I highly recommend that you use Mozilla Firefox as your browser when restocking because I find it is faster than Internet Explorer, crashes much less often, and has some really useful plug-ins. Before the latest version of IE came out, it also held a major advantage in allowing users to use tabs instead of windows. The vast majority of restockers I have talked to prefer Firefox to IE, hands down. If you have not already, first download and install Firefox, you can download it here.

As you may have noticed, neopets has been flooding the site with advertisements anywhere that they can be squeezed in. If you are not a premium user like me, you will have tons of ads, and these will slow down your page loads considerably. To get rid of these ads, there is a nice plug-in for Firefox called Adblock, which you can use to filter out items on a page that you do not wish to load. Please only use adblock to block ads, and NOT the items in a shop as TnT does consider this cheating and you WILL get frozen for doing so.

The most basic and useful filters are these:
[Adblock]
*googlesyndication*
*fastclick*
*doubleclick*
*banner*
*.ads*
*ads.*
*overture*
adlog.com
http://*.burstnet.com/*
http://*.tribalfusion.com/*
http://*valueclick.com/*
http://*doubleclick.net/*
ads.partnersource.com
servedbyadvertising.com
pagead2.googlesyndication.com
images.neopets.com/buttons/*
images.neopets.com/sponsors/*
images.neopets.com/728ads/*
http://images.neopets.com/ads/*
http://www.neopets.com/ads/*
http://neopets.com/ads/*
http://images.neopets.com/buttons/*
http://*.adknowledge.com/*
http://*.adecn.com/*
http://*.maxserving.com/*
http://*.yieldmanager.com/*
http://*.tradedoubler.com/*
http://*.advertising.com/*
http://pagead2.googlesyndication.com/*

You can either add the above filters one-by-one (don't copy the [Adblock] part), or you can save them to a textfile and add them all at once. This latter option is what I use. Open up Notepad, copy the entire list above (including [Adblock]) into your textfile. Save it to your computer (I just called it filters.txt). Go to Tools > Adblock > Preferences. Click Adblock Options > Import Filters. Find your textfile (filters.txt). You can either Append (add these new filters to your existing list) or Replace (add these new filters and remove all the old ones). That's up to you depending on what you already have. Click "Done" and you're ready to go!

The next plug-in that will also help boost your speed a bit is Fasterfox. Not only does it help your pages load faster, it also has a nifty little timer at the bottom of your screen that tells you how long it took your pages to load. This way, you will definitely know if you are getting more lag than usual, and you can compare your page load times to those of other restockers. My own page load times usually range from 0.7-1.0 second, which is actually not considered really fast, as many restockers have boasted times of 0.3-0.5 seconds to me. However, it is my personal opinion that once your page loads are fast enough, a little more doesn't really matter as much as getting the rest of your technique down.
