Format Explanation

Shop ID

This is the most important identifier of a shop as this is the number that shows up in the URL of the shop. Neopets shops can be found be using the following URL:
http://www.neopets.com/objects.phtml?type=shop&obj_type=#
Just replace the # sign with the shop ID number and that is the URL address of the shop.

Shop Name

Pretty self-explanatory, this is simply the name of the shop. =P

Overall Rating

This is a sum of all the individual ratings on a total of 10 points and is an indicator of how easy it is to make a very NICE fortune in this shop. By "very NICE" I mean in the ball-park of at least several million np in one restock, so please do NOT become discouraged if the shop seems to have a low rating. They only seem low because I have set the bar so high. =P I also thought the best, most structured way to rate the shops was through the factors that make it a profitable place. The 5 factors I use are: profitability, competition, rs frequency, ease, and personal preference. These are explained in more detail below.

Profit Level

I rate the profit you can potentially make from restocking the items in a shop on a scale of 0 to 4. Note that I have given this the most weight on the overall 10 scale as I think it should be the most important factor when determining whether or not to restock in this shop. It also should give you an idea of how worthwhile it is to camp in a certain shop. =D The scale is split up roughly as follows:
  • 0: There are NO unbuyables in this shop. I personally wouldn't waste my time here. =P
  • 1: The best unbuyables sell in the 100,000 - 500,000 NP range.
  • 2: The best unbuyables sell in the 500,000 - 800,000 NP range.
  • 3: The best unbuyables sell in the 800,000 - 5 million NP range.
  • 4: The best unbuyables sell for over 5 million NP.

Competition

The second most important factor when considering a shop is how competitive it is, or how many regular, skilled restockers frequent that shop. Reflecting the importance of this factor, I have given it a scale of 0 to 3, because even if the shop has a lot of good things in it, obviously it will do you no good if you can't get one fast enough. =P The scale is set up as follows:
  • 0: This is a very popular shop. Many regular restockers are here and items go FAST!
  • 1: Not quite as popular, but still relatively fast.
  • 2: Take some time to breathe and look over the items.
  • 3: Virtually empty! Take your time, check the wiz prices. xD

Restock Frequency

Despite how profitable a shop can be, some are just downright dead and boring. If you really can't stand camping out in a shop waiting for that huge item to restock, you should pay attention to this factor. I have only give it a weighting of 1 point, as how frequently it restocks shouldn't be *too* big a factor.
  • 0: This shop restocks very rarely, and stocks unbuyables even less frequently.
  • 0.5: Restocks somewhat regularly but does not often restock unbuyables.
  • 1: Restocks quite regularly, and usually with profitable items to boot!

Ease

The ease with which you can learn a shop and spot the good items is a minor factor to keep in mind, and I have given it a point value of 1. I am a really visual person so I will pay attention to the pictures more than the prices below it, and hence I really like the shops where I can easily spot the good items, fast. A really good example of a shop that's pretty straightforward to learn is the Magic Shop, where the morphing potions are pretty distinct from the junk. =P
  • 0: Difficult to learn, and the shop is often cluttered. The difficulty may lie in good items not being easily distinguishable from bad ones (graphics-wise, or even price-wise).
  • 1: Easy to learn, good items are obvious, and shop is often uncluttered and only requires a quick glance.

Personal

This is my own personal way of adding a point to a shop which I think is especially good and should have a higher rating. This may be because the profit margins are absolutely HUGE, or it's really easy, or I've had a really good experience in that shop. I will always explain exactly what earned the shop its points here. ^^
  • 0: Nothing special, ho-hum.
  • 1: I really like this shop, go go go!

Recommended Skill Level

I will give my own recommendation of what skill level I think a person should be at to restock successfully in this shop. This is a loose recommendation based on the individual ratings a shop has received in each section. I will only choose from the following:
  • Beginner: You are just beginning to restock and understand what it's all about.
  • Intermediate: You've grasped the basics and are fine-tuning your technique.
  • Advanced: You know what you are doing and are confident that your restocking abilities are honed quite well.

Notable Items

These are good items that are often what the shop is famous for. Pretty much, you can't go wrong if you restock one of these. I will only post the most notable ones.

Items to Avoid

Some shops have a few items that seem like they should be good but are often a bad idea to restock. Do NOT buy these as you will typically take a loss on them! I will only post the ones that typically trick people.

Notes

I will write any other information that I feel should also be included for a particular shop. Usually I will point out here if you should keep a minimum amount of NP on hand when restocking that shop.
